Our Long Standing Partnership with The Charles Lafitte Foundation
The American Cancer Society is proud of the ardent support and generosity of The Charles Lafitte Foundation. Preceding their directed giving. both Suzanne and Jeffrey were tremendous supporters of many local efforts of the American Cancer Society. Their support of Relay For Life events and other Distinguished events were a welcome addition to those endeavors. Suzanne also played a vital role in giving her time to serve as an American Cancer Society Research Stakeholder. In this role, Suzanne was pivotal in determining where the ACS would focus its resources in the research community. We are grateful that our relationship has blossomed over the recent decade and look forward to a continued and fruitful partnership.

Eastern Division Pain Management Initiative – endowment gift of $500,000
Over the course of these years, through this significant funding, designated Society staff were able to create and implement the educational programs necessary to address the critical issue of pain management. These programs, and their continuing application, have been directed at a broad range of health professionals and have been instrumental in the growing acceptance of pain management intervention as an integral part of any patient’s right to comprehensive and compassionate health care. Your gift has given us the ability to negate some of the misconceptions of pain management and forge relationships with providers of such care. We are proud to say that the landscape of pain management in health care has dramatically changed for the better, and this gift is a huge part of that success.
Hope Lodge NYC – The Charles Lafitte Foundation Kitchen – gift off $1,000,000
Hope Lodge New York City serves as the flagship Hope Lodge for the entire country. The demand for lodging in the city with its many comprehensive cancer centers is immense. Hope Lodge serves as an oasis for those going through the fight of their life and alleviates the concerns around the cost of lodging. The gift from the Charles LaFitte Foundation toward Hope Lodge NYC is nothing short of a true blessing. The Charles Lafitte Foundation Kitchen is a major focal point of the entire building. It serves as a communal kitchen in the very active lounge area where all of our guests meet. It provides comfort, nourishment, camaraderie and support. This space will forever be a major part of NYC Hope Lodge. Every guest will benefit from its presence and will be forever seen as an integral part of one’s hope and healing.
