Golf Classic 2003

The Charles Lafitte Foundation hosted the inaugural CLF Golf Classic in support of the Deborah Hospital Foundation, June 30, 2003.  The event, attracting 68 philanthropically minded golfers and other donors, raised $305,000 for the Deborah Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of the internationally renowned Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Brown Mills, NJ.

The tournament took place at the Tournament Players Club in Princeton, NJ, and included a cocktail reception, lunch and an awards program. Don Tollefson, sports director for Fox Philadelphia, emceed the event.  Sponsors included Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, Gilmore Insurance, RCI Conference Call Services and Erik and Jill Maschler and family.  Prizes were awarded to the top three teams, closest to the pin and longest drive.

“The generosity of Suzanne and Jeffrey Citron, and all of those who participated in this amazing event will enable the Deborah Heart and Lung Center to continue its philanthropic mission well into the 21st century,” said Joseph P. Chirichella, executive director, Deborah Hospital Foundation.  “We are honored to have the support of the Charles Lafitte Foundation in our mission to provide the highest quality of medical care and technology to our patients without regard to a patient’s ability to pay.”
