Angel Flight Northeast Receives $25K Grant From Charles Lafitte Foundation

The Charles Lafitte Foundation (CLF) recently donated $25,000 to Angel Flight Northeast (AFNE), a non-profit organization that coordinates free air transportation for patients to access life-saving medical care that is not available in their geographic area.

The donation will help support mission flight coordination for more than 80 life-saving flights.

We are honored that the Charles Lafitte Foundation continues to support our mission of coordinating free air transportation so those in need of medical care can access it,” said Larry Camerlin, president and founder of Angel Flight Northeast. “Mission flight coordination is the heart and soul of our program with our team available 24/7. With this generous grant, we can coordinate more flights of healing and hope and ensure that distance is never an obstacle for our patients to access life-saving medical care.

Mission flight coordination is a crucial part of AFNE’s service, with coordinators serving as the first voice a person hears when they call for help. The $25,000 grant will enable AFNE’s mission coordination services to arrange more than 80 flights.  On average, each flight costs AFNE nearly $300 to coordinate which can take anywhere from two hours to two days depending upon the illness of the patient, distance, routing, and pilot availability.  Along with previous donations Charles Lafitte Foundation has now donated a total of $100,000 to Angel Flight Northeast in three grants.

“Angel Flight Northeast provides a truly lifesaving service to those that need it most,”  “We are pleased to continue supporting Angel Flight and their efforts to change the world, one flight at a time.”

– Jeffrey Citron, co-founder of the Charles Lafitte Foundation
