Place of Hope is a unique, state-licensed children’s organization providing emergency and long-term, family-style foster care. The dedicated staff provides family outreach and intervention, maternity care, safety for victims of domestic minor sex trafficking, transitional housing and support services, and foster care recruitment and support.
In December 2016, representatives of the Charles Lafitte Foundation toured the Paxson Campus of Place of Hope. Their time was spent learning about the services, programs, facilities and 24/7 family care provided to the children who come to Place of Hope.
“Over the years, we have visited and supported many sites providing care for abused and abandoned youth. Place of Hope is by far one of the most effective and compassionate organizations we have encountered”
– Jeffrey Citron
Place of Hope and the Charles Lafitte Foundation view their new partnership as a strong and beneficial one.
“We are extremely grateful to establish this new and long-term relationship with a foundation that supports children and their development,” said Charles L. Bender, Place of Hope Executive Director. “Place of Hope is one of the many national organizations that have been honored with this foundation’s investment and we are excited about fostering this new bond.”
The funds will be used to support the general operations of the foster care community at Place of Hope. Abuse, neglect, abandonment and exploitation will leave 300 children and youth in the care of Place of Hope on a daily basis. This donation will be impactful in supporting the needs of the facility and their cause.
The Charles Lafitte Foundation (CLF) supports innovative and effective ways of helping people help themselves and others around them to achieve healthy, satisfying and enriched lives.
CLF supports organizations working in four main areas: education, children’s advocacy, medical research & issues, and the arts. The Foundation underwrites programs that can become self-sustaining with long-term commitment and measurable impact. In determining grants, CLF looks for solutions that lead to independence and self-empowerment for individuals, and to the establishment of effective, long-standing programs and organizations.
