Girl Scouts: Junior Woman of Distinction

Last week I was honored at the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Women of Distinction Gala.   It was a phenomenal night that recognized leaders in our area and raised funds for the Girl Scouts.  The event honored women of distinction and community partners in the New Jersey area. I was named the first Junior Woman of Distinction.  The other honorees named are all such admirable and accomplished women, it was a privilege to share such a title.

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

This is truly a mission that I believe in. Just as children are sometimes underestimated, women are also. Not so long ago, women couldn’t vote. Girl Scouts helps girls empower girls.  These girls grow up to be strong and confident women.  Women who can make the world a better place.

This organization has changed the life of so many girls. I attended the Girl Scout Camp for many years. I have fond memories of meeting new friends, learning and growing in a safe environment where I felt I could just be me. This organization is one that I truly believe in, and for all the girls out there, if you are looking for a way to have fun, become a better person and help shape the world – – join the Girl Scouts.  You wont regret it!
